Usage & Care:

First Burn: To maximize the burn time and ensure a proper burn, please follow these instructions:

  • When lighting the candle for the first time, allow it to burn until a full melt pool forms at the edge of the container.
  • Burn the candle in increments of 3 to 4 hours, which will ensure optimal use of the burn time.
  • Keep the wick trimmed to a height of 1/4 inch and remove any debris from the wax pool to prevent smoke or soot.
  • Avoid burning the candle near a window or in a drafty area, and keep it away from any objects that could potentially obstruct the flame.
  • Stop burning the candle when the wax level is at about 1/4 inch from the bottom of the container.

Preparing Your Candle for the Best Burn

For the first burn and every subsequent burn, it’s crucial to let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the vessel. This usually takes 2 to 3 hours. Not allowing the wax pool to reach the edges can cause tunneling, which shortens the life of your candle.

To ensure your candle burns beautifully, always keep your wood wick trimmed to 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch. Before relighting, clip or gently pinch off the burned portion of the wick. Be careful not to let any ash fall into the wax. Only trim the wick when the candle has fully cooled.

Trimming the wick helps control the burn rate, enhances the fragrance throw, minimizes soot and smoke, and promotes an even wax pool. Remember to dispose of trimmings properly, as they can reignite if left near a burning candle.
